Product Development Cycle
Ambiki Product Development Cycle

At the start of this year, we switched to a new product development process at Ambiki, largely inspired by 37signals' Shape Up methodology, albeit with our own modifications.

We now operate in 8-week cycles, structured as follows:

  • Warm-up (1 week)
    • Review the feature alignment documents and overview videos.
    • Refine fat marker wireframes into higher fidelity versions.
    • Prepare to "teach" your project.
  • Development (5 weeks)
  • Polishing (1 week)
    • Swap projects to review/enhance another developer's work.
    • Elevate a strong draft to "best-seller" status.
  • Cool-down (1 week)
    • Cycle work is now in production and released to users.
    • Analyze usage patterns and feedback.
    • Address bugs and make small improvements.
    • Prepare for the next cycle by clearing your plate.

As we approach our polishing week, this first cycle has been exceptionally successful. We are eager to unveil all these new, significant features to our customers. While there are too many to detail here, key highlights include payroll, facility invoicing, new dashboards, extensive billing updates, and a novel feature named Claim Comparer, among others.
