Tough problems

Steps for solving tough problems:

  1. Clearly Define the Problem: Write out the problem you are trying to solve. Define key terminology and attempt to explain the issue in the simplest terms possible (e.g. ELI5 approach).
  2. Break It Down: Divide the problem into as many small steps as you can. Then, break each of those small steps into even smaller steps.
  3. One Step at a Time: Remember the saying, "Eat the elephant one bite at a time." Tackle each small step one by one, ensuring that you remain focused and avoid becoming overwhelmed.

When individuals find themselves stuck on tough problems, it is most often because they have skipped steps. They might not have clarified in their minds what the problem actually is, or they can't articulate it clearly. Attempting to do too much at once can leave them in a state of analysis paralysis, hampering their ability to find solutions.
