B-roll

A three-photo collage from the shoot: a selfie of me in my living-room office with studio lights, a camera on a tripod, and my desk in the background; two of the crew laughing behind a large video camera; and a wide shot of the boom mic and lighting setup with me grinning in the corner.
A few photos from the shoot: the setup in my office, and the crew at work.

Well, this was a first.

A few days ago, I had a film crew in my office.

Which sounds much more glamorous than it felt in the moment, mostly because nothing humbles you faster than trying to talk naturally while several cameras, lights, and microphones are pointed at you.

I’m pretty sure if I’m ever interrogated, they won’t need anything fancy. They’ll just make me watch my own videos on repeat until I confess.

But all joking aside, this was a fun one. We’ve been working on something new at Ambiki. More soon!

Oh, and one more funny anecdote.

Scott, the videographer (who, if you ever need an English-speaking videographer in Japan, is absolutely your guy), said, “We’re supposed to get some b-roll of you walking around your office with your coworkers… but it looks like this is just a house in the middle of nowhere in Tochigi.”

Yup. We are 100% remote.
