Yesterday, I got to meet several LinkedIn friends in person for the first time!
First, John Lindmeier was kind enough to go out of his way to meet me for lunch in Tokyo (and even treated me!). It was great to finally meet face-to-face, catch up, and get to know each other better. We originally connected through Michael Petkovic's dad group, Father Time.
Speaking of Father Time, I also got to meet another friend from that group, Andrew Neuman, at Mark Kennedy's Substack dinner party.
Mark had me on his podcast over the summer, which I was really appreciative of, so it was awesome to finally meet him in person as well.
And what a great event it was! There were probably 30+ people there, many of them Substack writers covering a wide variety of topics and interests. It was such an interesting mix of people, and I really enjoyed getting to meet so many new faces.
One of the things I appreciate most about LinkedIn is how connections that start online can turn into genuine friendships and real-world experiences. Yesterday was a great reminder of that.
