Jumping in

I’m a builder and I’m an introvert.

Builder + introvert = when things get tough, your first natural instinct is to think that one more feature or one more bit of polish on the product will solve it, even when your self-aware brain is telling you that is not at all the case.

And you know deep down in your heart you gotta figure out marketing and sales.

Throughout my career, the only way I’ve ever gotten better at something is by just jumping in, starting, doing it, and practicing again and again and again.

So I signed up for Darren McKee’s July cohort for a couple reasons.

One, I saw in Darren’s own story that there was no secret magic bullet, except for hard work, consistency, and showing up.

Two, I was excited by the prospect of being around like-minded, driven individuals. And even though the actual sessions haven’t started yet, I’ve already connected on video and made good friends with multiple people in the group, which is really cool.

I know this won’t magically change anything or give me any silver bullets, but I do think it will, one, show me the path that needs to be executed, and two, give me a sense of accountability within this group of high-performing people to go out there and do the hard work that needs to be done.

No, this is not at all a paid advertisement. Darren hasn’t asked me to do this. He doesn’t know I’m posting this. I haven’t even had the course yet, but I can tell just from the interactions in the chat and meeting the other people in DMs and calls that this is going to be a worthwhile investment, which I’m super psyched for. I admire what he has built.
