"The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry"
That phrase lives rent free in my head around midday, every day.
It usually shows up when I look down at the list I wrote the night before, outlining what I wanted to accomplish today.
Such is life in a startup. Even if you have the best processes. Even if you’ve sworn off firefighting. Even if you’ve preached being proactive, not reactive.
The list sits there, untouched. Almost smug.
Most days in a startup, I wake up in a different time zone, spend six hours in meetings and chat messages, and realize the five things I wrote down the night before have shifted.
If someone has the solution for that, I'm buying.
