Permission to play

Sometimes you need to play.

Sometimes you need to build things for fun that solve no obvious problem, just because you’re curious.

One of our values at Ambiki is “Seek hidden connections.”

The idea is that some of the most innovative ways to solve a problem come from combining ideas from unexpected places.

Steve Jobs famously pulled from calligraphy.

At Ambiki, who knew a fraud audit tool would be inspired by translation and natural language processing?

I have an eclectic taste in music, and recently my son has been recording original songs on the piano.

It’s tough to get a clean recording. Small mistakes here and there. But the beats, ideas, and concepts have been blowing us away.

So one thing I’ve been playing around with is taking his piano recordings and seeing how I can remix them using AI music tools.

Does it solve a business problem?

Nope

But sometimes play is where the hidden connections start.
