Saturday

A five-photo collage: a selfie of me in a black cap and white t-shirt beside my son at a laptop, its screen showing a game full of creature characters, plus four of his marker drawings, each showing a creature growing from a small egg into a bigger form (a green dragon, a blue manta ray, a purple coiled serpent, and a black-and-white panda).
A few photos from the morning: the two of us at the laptop, and some of the creatures my son designed for the game.

It’s Saturday morning. It hasn’t been the best week. The last thing I want to do is sit in front of a computer.

BUT my son has been asking me all week if we can work on his game. We haven’t touched it in a month or so.

I love that he loves seeing his art, sketches, and ideas come to life.

I can’t say no…but the screen feels like the last place I want to be today.

Any other parents experience something similar?
