One of the feelings I dislike most is that foggy, rusty feeling when you come back to something you haven't touched in a while.
I get it all the time with coding.
You open a part of the codebase you used to know cold and suddenly you're thinking, "Wait... how does any of this work again?" ...or "WHO WROTE THIS? (oh yeah, me)"
I HATE that feeling.
And I had a little bit of the physical version of it this morning.
Between being sick, the ridiculous heat and humidity, and traveling, I hadn't been out on the bike since August 10.
The first few minutes definitely felt rusty. But it felt really good to be back out there.
Then I got home and realized I forgot to hit record on my watch.
So apparently the rust extends to basic button pushing too. Oh well. Still counts.
