Default to simple. Start with the smallest possible change.
It sounds obvious, but it's the number one place I see people get stuck. We try to do too much at once.
Rewrite the whole service.
Adopt a new framework.
Refactor legacy code and add the new feature.
Big changes feel productive… right up until they slow everything down.
Progress usually comes from the smallest, least-magical step forward.
If you're stuck, shrink the scope.
Make one thing better.
Ship it.
Repeat.
