AI has broken our collective brain.
Somewhere along the way, we stopped asking “What problem are we solving?” and started asking “How can we add AI to this?”
It’s become the new glitter. Sprinkle a little on top, and suddenly everything looks “innovative.” But most of what’s being built right now isn’t solving problems. It’s chasing demos and VC dollars.
Don’t get me wrong: AI and LLMs are extraordinary. But they’re also a distraction. When we treat them as a default rather than a deliberate choice, we lose the discipline that actually makes products work.
Start with the problem.
Then decide if AI helps.
Not the other way around.
